Summary:
Platform Distribution Strategy is responsible for applying ingenuity and critical thinking skills to advance the Media Networks, Direct-To-Consumer, Digital Transactional, and Theatrical businesses.
Platform Distribution Strategy is looking for a Sr.
Manager, Business Strategy and Development to identify, create, and evaluate sales strategies and tactics to advance the content distribution business.
Working hand-in-hand with the Platform Distribution and Theatrical Sales teams, this Sr.
Manager will play a critical role in evaluating deal proposals and developing negotiation strategies for distributors like digital platforms and theatrical exhibitors.
In addition, the Sr.
Manager will head projects that help shape Disney Platform Distribution's long-term strategy, including evaluating new opportunities, strategic approaches, and marketplace trends.
Responsibilities:
Support negotiations with key distribution partners by aiding in the creation of proposals, term sheets, and financial modeling in support of a $5B revenue businessWork with the Platform Distribution and Theatrical Sales teams in support of transactional (e.
g.
, Electronic Home Video), theatrical, and direct-to-consumer distribution strategies representing the entire Walt Disney Company portfolio of contentDevelop platform or service-focused analyses for distribution opportunities and conduct ongoing evaluations around key business drivers, industry trends, new business models and strategiesServe as a team leader and project manager working with junior team members, contributing to specific skill and long term professional development as well as fostering an inclusive team culture for learning and growthBasic
Qualifications:
Minimum 6 years work experience and/or educational equivalent in a strategy, finance, or business development roleUnderstanding of media industry landscape, including competitors and current trendsStrong proven written, verbal, quantitative / modeling skills (including Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel)Ability to develop strong collaborative relationships with internal and external partnersAbility to manage competing priorities effectively and work efficiently in a fast paced environmentPreferred
Qualifications:
Work experience in investment banking and/or management consultingIndustry experience in media, technology and/or with subscription business modelsExperience in contract review and interpretationExperience managing (directly and/or indirectly) and growing junior team membersPreferred EducationMBA or other relevant advanced degree.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
